What is multi-entity EPR compliance

Multi-entity EPR compliance is the coordinated management of Extended Producer Responsibility obligations for two or more legal entities in the same corporate group. It gives headquarters a single view of registrations, deadlines, declarations and costs, while retaining separate records and filings for each entity where required by law.

It is different from ordinary multi-country reporting. A single company may need to report in ten countries. A group may have ten different companies, with different roles and obligations in those same countries. Lappa is designed to manage both dimensions together.

One corporate group. Many possible producers.

Your group may share a brand, finance and procurement, but EPR obligations depend on which legal entity is the producer in each market and waste stream. That may be the manufacturer, importer, brand owner or another business placing products on the market.

Five entities in six markets across packaging, electronics and batteries means up to 90 combinations to assess, though not 90 registrations. The first step is finding which obligations apply, and to whom.

Lappa connects your group structure with the regulatory picture, so headquarters can oversee compliance while each subsidiary keeps its own obligations.

Built for the way enterprise groups actually operate

Bring multiple subsidiaries under one commercial relationship with Lappa. Group procurement deals with one master agreement; finance gets centralized billing and a clearer picture of compliance expenditure. Where local law requires separate producer responsibility organisation (PRO) memberships, mandates or statutory filings, those remain properly entity-specific.

One platform for packaging, WEEE, batteries and more

Enterprise EPR rarely stops at one category. A business selling packaged electronics may have packaging, WEEE and battery obligations across several subsidiaries and countries. With L’EPR, your group manages all these streams, including textiles, in one programme, with data, deadlines and eco-fees linked to the right legal entity.

For packaging, this includes PPWR, which has applied in phases since 12 August 2026. EPR is only one part of it: technical, labelling and conformity requirements are assessed separately.

How Lappa onboards a multi-entity group

  1. Map the group

We identify the legal entities in scope, their selling models, destination markets, products, EPR streams and existing producer registrations. This creates a clear entity-by-entity starting point instead of an incomplete group-level assumption.

  2. Assess responsibility and identify gaps

We review where EPR obligations may arise, which company is responsible, what registrations already exist and what requires attention. The goal is to avoid missed obligations and unnecessary duplicate work.

  3. Consolidate the operating model

We establish the group-wide commercial and billing arrangement, organise entity-specific compliance records and configure reporting calendars, document management and relevant data flows.

  4. Run EPR as a group programme

Your group has one oversight view, one dedicated account manager and a repeatable process for reporting, renewals, eco-fee visibility and bringing additional entities or markets into scope.

Enterprise EPR pricing for groups — not five disconnected quotes

A multi-entity company should not have to buy compliance as if every subsidiary were an unrelated customer. Lappa offers group-level commercial scoping based on the number of active legal entities, countries, applicable EPR streams, reporting frequency and operational complexity.

Where administration and data collection are consolidated, group pricing can reflect those efficiencies. Statutory charges, PRO contributions, eco-fees and any separately required local representation are assessed according to the applicable arrangements — not hidden inside a blanket “one price covers everything” promise.

Designed for enterprise procurement and security reviews

Lappa operates an ISO/IEC 27001:2022-certified information security management system covering the development, operation, maintenance and support of its compliance SaaS platform. Enterprise buyers can review the certification and security information as part of vendor due diligence.

Your group gains a single compliance management relationship without sacrificing the auditability of separate legal entities. For details, see Lappa Security & Trust.

Frequently asked questions about multi-entity EPR

Not necessarily. It depends on the country, waste stream, entity’s legal role and any permitted group registration arrangements. Lappa maps the obligations before determining which registrations are required. A shared parent company does not, by itself, make one producer number valid for every subsidiary.
